Dewun's album is an ode to his importance of loyalty, his influences and what he calls the "art of music." You can tell that the album is personal and well made, but most importantly, The Audible jams. The producing is very versatile; there is a mixture of hard beats, smooth rhythms, pop and even some dubstep. It doesn't feel one note.I may not be his biggest fan, but I am a fan of Dewun ever since his earlier days with his Trakk Season mixtape projects. His style of rapping is fun, and most of his songs have substance, which is sorely needed today in this genre. Here are some of my favorite tracks on the album that I would like to highlight:3. Bless Them- The album doesn't start to pick up for me until this track. Clocking in at just under two minutes, it's the shortest track on the album, but doesn't feel like a filler. The continuous melody against the muted bass doesn't overpower the lyrics, which gives off a chill mood. Dewun also made a ytube video of this song that gives visual meaning to the message he was trying to convey.4. Higher- This song is my #1 favorite on the album. Whenever I introduce Dewun to my friends or family, this is the song that I choose for them to listen to. It instantly pulls them in and makes them bob their head slowly to the beat. I like how the syncopated beat along with the rising music gives literal meaning to the word higher, but are also a contrast to Taylor Cormier's deeper voice. It's a well produced track that I can listen to over and over. Dewun made two ytube videos for this track, one for the original song, which is really good and an acoustic version that is equally as good. Fav lyric: "I mean, whatchu gonna do? When you living for the music and they tryna press mute?...my future's unclear, but my sky is light blue."8. H-A-R-L-O-T (hmph)HARLOT!Noun. A prostitute or promiscuous woman (EWWW!)A lewd female capable of exuberating extremely high levels of thirst (drink being poured..GULP!)One who partakes in casual relations with arbitrary heathens (dirty b%tch)A trollop....(disgusting) tramp. Strumpet.A street walker! (TO THE GALLOOOOOWWSS!!)And remember, above all else, We. Do not. Love. These. HARLOTS!Fun track. Not a lot of substance; just a shout out to the dirty south rhythm.9. Wait on me- I like this track because of the dubstep influence. I am also a fan of this collaboration ever since Dewun's mixtape days on Trakk Season Volume 1. L.I.E. is one of my favorites on that album.10. Dangerous- Fun pop track featuring Gael Boom. The boy can sing for real. Ever since I listened to his cover of Usher's Climax song, I was hooked. Before this collaboration on this album, he and Dewun made a wonderful cover of Katy Perry's Wide Awake on ytube that is worth checking out.11. I am the- This is a very nice track. It has sort of a Jay Z influence. Dewun takes his time with the lyrics and gives you a sense that he is really just in the corner kicking it at a house party. Fav Lyric: "B--you wasn't with me when I was shootin in the gym, listening to Missy (Missy Elliot), jamming Bub (Bubba Sparxxx) and Kim (Lil Kim)."13. Cruising- This is my 2nd favorite track on the album. It stays on repeat most days. The beat is just so smooth and hits correctly through my speakers. The verses in the 2nd bar are great and so is the message. Fav lyric: "Morissette, that's a hard pill to swallow, and what's next, that's a hard act to follow..life moves fast so I'mma see how slow my car go."Overall, The Audible is a solid project that Dewun can definitely be proud of that showcases his talent lyrically and musically. This album excites and satisfies his current fans, but should also introduce him properly to first-time listeners.
