I am using this taillight coming from another very bright Serfas product, the USL-TL60 (Serfas Superbright Usb Taillight (Red, One)). Compared to that one, the UTLA-8 is a very much brighter light. Along with that it offers widespread light distribution compared to other Serfas taillights which would create a hotspot of light which doesn't create much side visibility for vehicles approaching from behind unless they are dead on behind you or a distance straight far behind you. Another cool feature is the ability to mount horizontally or vertically. I mount this device on my rear seatbag which this model DOES NOT include a mount for. Much to my surprise I took the seatbag mount off my Serfas USL-TL60 and it fit perfectly with the UTLA-8. If you are looking to mount this on your underseat bag I would recommend emailing Serfas and asking for a seat pack mounting clip, I am sure they would send you this for free. Either way as an avid road cyclist with a lot of night time riding I am very impressed with this light. I struggled finding the brightest light under $100 that would offer the performance and visibility this model does. I have tested the Cygolite Hotspot and Serfas USL-TL60 and this one beats them by far in terms of brightness and visibility.
